A Marriage of Meditation and Yoga
September 2 @ 4:00 pm - September 6 @ 1:00 pm$650
A Silent Meditation Retreat Led by Jeff Collins and Gisela Konrad
This silent retreat will flow from periods of sitting meditation (on cushions or chairs) to walking meditation to several periods of yoga practice each day. The yoga is grounded in the tradition of viniyoga, a style that is in turn grounded in awareness of breath and the physical movement that flows out of that breath awareness. The awareness work moves seamlessly from meditation in seated stillness to meditation in movement. Beginners to yoga and meditation are very welcome.
The cost of the retreat will be $650, which covers a single room in the Lodge, plus the vegetarian meals provided by Light on the Hill staff. This $650 only covers the actual expenses of putting on the retreat. A basket will be put out at the end of the retreat for a donation (dana offering) to the teachers.
We are delighted to be offering this retreat in person, but we are aware that the pandemic will continue to be an ongoing reality. We will be guided by the COVID guidelines coming from the CDC, New York State, and Light on the Hill. While we respect that there may be divergent attitudes toward COVID vaccination, we will require that all retreatants be fully vaccinated by the time the retreat starts. Under Light on the Hill guidelines, we will need to have a copy of your vaccination record before the retreat starts. You can mail us a copy, or send a cell phone picture or a scan of the card via text or email.
To register, please send a $150 deposit to Jeff Collins, 312 First Street, Ithaca, NY 14850, along with your name, address, phone number and email address. You can also register by email, sending the deposit by check or PayPal. Because of Light on the Hill’s deposit requirements, we will not be able to refund the deposit for any cancellations made less than four weeks before the beginning of the retreat. If you have questions, you can call, text or email Jeff at 607-279-5590 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Gisela at 607-2793668 (email@example.com).
