This is an immersive, experiential workshop open to all helping professionals (mental health therapists, teachers, coaches, medical providers, psychiatrists, etc.) who are interested in learning and experiencing how nature-based therapeutic interventions can help restore and heal our clients and ourselves. The workshop will be a balance of didactic sessions, hands-on activities, mindful walking, discussions, and small group meetings. Costs include all lodging (unless registering as a commuter), meals (gourmet vegetarian), 19 CE credits, and the workshop/course.
About Your Retreat Leader: Andrea “Snowy” Lajoie (she/her) has been a practicing therapist since 2008 and a mindful outdoor guide since 2020. She graduated with her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Wheelock College at Boston University in 2010 and practiced clinical social work and outpatient therapy in Massachusetts for the next four years. In 2014, Snowy moved back to the Finger Lakes and has been practicing and guiding in Tompkins County ever since. In addition to being a registered LCSW-R in NY, Snowy is also a level III trained AEDP therapist and a level I certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide (KMOG). She is registered as a climate-aware therapist with the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. Snowy has worked with humans of all ages in acute/inpatient settings to outpatient settings to wilderness settings. She specializes in working with folks who have experienced trauma and has a deep understanding of the healing power of the more-than-human world. Snowy also teaches various courses on Wilderness and Eco Therapy and you can find her seminars in various places around the Northeast. Meals: Meals are included in the overall cost of the workshop. Participants will be offered dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday; breakfast and lunch on Sunday. All meals will be vegetarian with gluten-free and vegan options.
Cost: Two Package Options Available:
1) The “On-Campus Package” is for participants who are staying at the Inner Light Lodge at Light on the Hill for the duration of the workshop. The cost includes all lodging, all meals (gourmet vegetarian), 19 CE credits, and all workshop events. Tax not included. $800 per person for a single room $750 per person for a double room (2 people per room)
2) The “Off-Campus Package” is for participants who are commuting to the retreat from the local Ithaca area. It includes all meals (gourmet vegetarian), 19 CE credits and all workshop events. Tax not included. $700 per person (5 registration spots total available)
