The Turning of The Wheel

A Fall Yoga & Meditation Immersion for Inner Harvest
Led by Larissa Schiano-Gonzalez
Thursday, October 16 – Sunday, October 19, 2025
As the Wheel of the Year turns toward the autumnal equinox, we gather in sacred circle to honor the balance between light and dark, action and rest, fullness and release. The Turning Wheel Retreat is a weekend journey inspired by folk traditions and the season of Mabon—a time of deep gratitude, letting go, and preparing for the inward path of winter. Held in a serene, nature-filled sanctuary, this immersive experience invites you to:
- Move through grounding yoga practices aligned with the earth element
- Receive sound healing sessions to clear energy and support emotional release
- Reflect through guided meditation, introspective journaling, and seasonal ritual
- Reconnect with ancient wisdom, honoring your harvest and releasing what no longer serves
Together, we walk the spiral of transformation—shedding old layers, giving thanks, and coming home to the self with gentleness and grace.
We’ll explore yoga, meditation, walking meditation, and guided journaling for self-reflection, while also allowing space for rest and rejuvenation.
About Your Retreat Leader (Larissa Schiano-Gonzalez):
My love for movement began at just two years old when I discovered the freedom and connection of dance. That discovery set the foundation for a lifelong journey in the healing arts. I have been teaching modern dance for over twenty years to students of all ages and abilities, and for the past twelve years, I’ve shared the practices of yoga and mindfulness with the same passion and dedication. In January 2016, I founded Be Yoga & Dance, a welcoming and inclusive studio offering yoga classes for everyone, yoga teacher trainings, healing retreats, and immersive wellness experiences. My intention has always been to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore movement, stillness, and self-inquiry. I am a Reiki Master and Sound Bath Practitioner, and my work is rooted in creating healing, transformative spaces for individuals and communities. Since 2017, I have been creating and leading yoga teacher trainings, and I work extensively with the NYC Board of Education to train educators in yoga and mindfulness. In 2014, I founded Living Through Movement, a nonprofit organization offering free movement classes to people of all abilities, with a focus on individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease. This work has been some of the most meaningful of my life, affirming my belief in the power of movement to connect, awaken, and heal. I bow deeply to my teachers—Cyndi Lee, Baron Baptiste, Paige Elenson, Dana Trixie Flynn, and many others—who have passed down the sacred teachings of yoga and continue to inspire my path. Yoga has been a refuge and mirror—helping me make peace with parts of myself I once resisted. Through it, I’ve learned to listen more deeply, practice acceptance, and cultivate a loving relationship with myself. Both yoga and dance have connected me to the higher power that lives within all of us. Through these practices, the veil of illusion lifts, and I return to the truth of my being: love, wholeness, purity, and freedom.
